TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing metal from a construction site in Malvern.

The arrests were made in the early hours of this morning after a member of the public called police.

Metal had been stolen from a construction site in Geraldine Road.

The men who have been arrested, aged 25 and 55, remain in custody.

The arrests are the latest in West Mercia Constabulary's Project Livewire - the force's campaign to tackle metal thefts across its area.

More than 95 people have been taken into custody since the start of the campaign in July last year.

Police are now urging local businesses to step-up security measures and report any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information about metal theft is asked to call 08457 444888 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
