THE remaining businesses which suffered a power cut in Worcester on Thursday have been reconnected.
Tilleys Sandwich Bar in Lowesmoor, Staples stationers and the Aldi supermarket in Pheasant Street were among premises disconnected after a fault on an underground power line. Power was still off to those businesses on Thursday night.
Engineers from Central Networks had managed to reconnect six of the nine affected residential and business properties during the day on Thursday after power was lost at about 9.45am. The three remaining business were then reconnected overnight following repairs.
Peter Griffin, Tilley’s owner, said: “We’ve had to throw all the food out.
“I did call up the power company to see if we could get compensation but they advised us to claim on business insurance.”
A spokeswoman for Central Networks apologised for any inconvenience.
