IT’S celebration time for a Worcest-ershire school which has won a prestigious award for academic achievement at an advanced level.
Bredon School at Pull Court, Bushley, near Upton-upon-Severn, won the award from the Good Schools Guide for its business studies results at level three in the new vocationally related qualification – the equivalent of two A-levels. The award was for the best results by boys at an English independent school.
The awards reflect the success that pupils achieve in each particular subject compared with other examinations they take and the popularity of each subject compared with other similar schools.
Principal David Keyte said: “Last year the school was awarded three Good Schools Guide awards at GCSE Level.
“It’s a great achievement to build on this and I am delighted that we have won the award at advanced level.
“It reflects the ability and dedication of our teachers as well as the hard work of our students.”
Ralph Lucas, editor of the Good Schools Guide, said: “Each year we explore the English A-level and GCSE examination data looking for schools where the results in individual subjects shout out that here is some really special teaching – and then we give the best of them awards.”
Bredon School is a co-educational school for children from pre-preparatory through to sixth form school offering boarding and day facilities. It has 244 pupils, aged between seven and 18.
