A RECEPTION class at a Stourport school wore caps and gowns for a special graduation ceremony.
The pupils of St Bartholomew’s Primary School were celebrating their first year in education.
They also celebrated their move into the school’s main building next term.
Shareen Rehman, reception teacher who organised the event, said: “All the parents attended the ceremony.
“We had music and entertainment. The children all wore caps and gowns and they sung songs and did a performance.”
She added that headteacher, Sue Helps, led the service with a speech and the youngsters shook her hand and collected their scrolls.
“It was lovely day.” Said Miss Rehman. “It was just to celebrate our successes and achievements this year.
“The children loved it. They really enjoyed dressing up and they were really excited. It was a fantastic afternoon.”
She went on: “The school has really improved this year and it’s come on leaps and bounds. This is the first of what will be many celebrations of our successes in the future.”
