DURING the last 50 years, my wife and I have enjoyed regular visits to Sedgley, staying with a good friend.

Sadly on our recent visit my wife suffered a stroke and with the help of the efficient and speedy paramedic and ambulance services she was admitted to Russells Hall Hospital.

Soon afterwards I was concerned to read that the hospital had been at the end of several adverse reports.

That concern rapidly faded away based on our experience at the “patient face”.

Whatever faults that may ot may not have been identified at high management level, certainly we could not find any at our level.

In all our contacts we were most favourably impressed with the competence and caring of the staff at all stages of my wife’s treatment.

Just before we returned to our own home, yet another adverse report became known to us.

It related to food at the hospital.

Starting from soft through to normal meals my wife could not fault what was put before her.

Overall, we hope that our report will serve to convince that the hospital is well able to do an excellent job for its patients.

Thank you Russells Hall Hospital and all who serve within it.
