I WAS pleased to welcome GCSE students from Summerhill School, Kingswinford to Parliament along with their teacher, Sandra Bentley. Summerhill pupils last visited me in Parliament in February 2012 so it was great to meet the current GCSE year group.

I met with Jayne Emery and her team at Dudley HealthWatch for a very productive meeting. To report your experiences of health and social care services in our borough visit healthwatchdudley.

The borough's MPs had a roundtable meeting with Cllr David Sparks, leader of Dudley Council, at Council House.

I visited Midland Coated Steel in Brockmoor and held a busy constituency advice surgery at Kingswinford Community Centre.

If you would like to book a surgery appointment with me please visit dudleysouth.com/ surgeries or call or e-mail me using the contact details below.

I went canvassing in Pensnett with Nicola Richards, our Conservative candidate for Brockmoor and Pensnett. Afterwards I enjoyed a swim in the 25m pool at Crystal Leisure Centre which is open for lane swimming on Saturday afternoons.

ÅÅ Marriage is a declaration of commitment, responsibility and stability that helps bind families together.

We believe marriage should be recognised in our tax system, like in other countries.

So from April 2015, if neither partner is a higher rate taxpayer, you will be able to transfer £1,000 of your tax-free allowance to your spouse. Most couples who benefit will be £200 a year better off as a result. And of course this will be true if you’re gay or straight – and in a civil partnership or a marriage.

We’re supporting the vital institution of marriage. Sign up at SupportingMarriage.com if you believe in supporting it too.
