At Prime Minister's Questions I highlighted the success of Black Country manufacturing. Earlier this year Dudley South manufacturing business Petford Tools accessed the regional growth fund, creating 23 jobs as a result.

I asked the PM to join me in congratulating the company and major customers Jaguar Land Rover, Bentley and JCB on that success and to consider visiting with me on his next visit to the Black Country.

The PM replied that he would be delighted to make that visit if at all possible and that he has indeed made visits with me in the past to look at what is happening in the Black Country in terms of greater job opportunities.

“That is part of the picture of a country where there are 1.4 million more people in private sector employment.

In spite of the predictions that we would lose jobs, 1 million more people are in work in Britain today”, the PM told the House.

I met with Claire Colling, club secretary, and members at Wall Heath Tennis Club along with Natalie Neale, Conservative candidate for Kingswinford North and Wall Heath, and Kingswinford South Councillors Patrick Harley and Peter Miller.

I have pledged my support to the club's efforts to secure new club house facilities at its base at Enville Road Playing Fields, Wall Heath, Kingswinford.

Natalie Neale and Councillors Patrick Harley and Peter Miller have agreed to offer guidance on completing any future application to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council's community forums capital allocation fund.

I undertook a series of home visits to elderly residents who find it hard to attend a constituency advice surgery.

I also visited shopkeepers and stallholders at Townsend Place, Kingswinford where I caught up with Sgt Chris Collins.

I was delighted to welcome Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor, the Rt. Hon. Chris Grayling MP, to the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill in my constituency for Dudley Conservative Group's dinner. 250 local Conservatives attended and the evening was a huge success.

I spent Saturday afternoon delivering Wordsley InTouch leaflets.
