As a resident of Marine Crescent for over 40 years I, along with many more long suffering neighbours, have had to put up with the thoughtless motorists blocking the entrance to the estate. Thereby, preventing anyone from either entering, or leaving the estate.
Therefore, imagine our joy when it was announced that there would be a traffic island at the junction (actually it said it would be built by the Redhouse Cone), but it seemed unlikely, being so close to the bridge.

We naturally assumed that it was intended for us and would be put in the obvious place, where the
crescent opens onto the main A491.

Wrong. Not only have they not put any sort of measures in place to help, in their wisdom, it was decided to build a pedestrian refuge, which not only does nothing to make it easier to access the state, but when approaching from the direction of the bridge, makes it much more difficult to position the car so that you enable the traffic following to pass by.

And if there are two cars wanting to turn onto the estate, the bollard prevents any following traffic enough room to get past safely.
In the meantime there is not even a keep clear, marking to remind motorists they they are not the only ones on the road.
