The constant inane bleating of Labour politicians about the injustice of zero hour contracts has now reached the European parliament, this week a Labour MEP trotted out that well worn party line should Labour be elected in May we will stop the abuse of zero hour contracts why well worn?

It was in Brighton in 1995 that Tony Blair pledged elect me and I will put an end to zero hour contracts, Thirteen years of a Labour government and 20 years from that Brighton speech nothing has changed. We see a faux angst on this subject displayed by MPs Jack Dromey and Ian Austin, which when stripped away reveals the say one thing and do another practise of Labour employers with over 60 Labour MPs employing staff this way. I wonder will the prospective MP for Stourbridge Peter Lowe, who as leader of Dudley council is the de-facto employer of over 200 people on zero hour contracts bring an end to it should he make it to Westminster.
