MAY I take this opportunity to congratulate the bureaucrats of NHS England on deciding to change me from being a dispensing patient to a prescribing patient.
You may ask what different this makes to me.
It means that now when I go to visit my GP at my local surgery and I need a new prescription, I can now walk past the pharmacy that is in the surgery and make my way to the nearest pharmacy, which happens to be situated in the Co-op at Franche.
A round journey by bus (luckily being nearly 80 I do not have to pay), including the normal 20 to 30 minutes wait at the Co-op pharmacy, will take about two hours.
So once again thanks NHS England.
It will save me hanging around in my local surgery for two or three minutes before I can collect my medication.
I feel safe knowing that the NHS England’s ambition is to place the patients and the public at the heart of everything we do. (Their words not mine).
