With the university summer break around the corner, and students from Stourbridge moving back home from university and college for the summer holidays, TV Licensing is reminding them that they could be eligible for a very useful refund of £36 on the final quarter of their annual TV Licence.
Many students will not be needing their TV Licence over the holiday period, and cash from a refund will be very welcome. To be eligible for the refund, students need to have a TV licence, be leaving their halls or rented accommodation and moving back to a licensed address.
A colour TV Licence bought in October 2014 cost £145.50 so the refund is £36.
If there are three full calendar months before the licence expires, they are entitled to a refund for the remaining unused quarter (ie from July to September).
You need a TV Licence to watch or record programmes at the same time as they are shown on TV, whether you are watching on TV sets or other devices such as tablets and laptops.
Students who wish to arrange a refund or who need further information, simply need to complete an online form at www.tvlicensing.
co.uk/studentinfo or call TV Licensing on 0300 790 6113.
