TO the rest of the world we must come across as really having lost the plot!!!

Sell off school playing fields, then insist all children do sports activities?

Close down swimming pools, then give free entry to encourage physical activity?

Open pubs longer hours, then say we have a drink problem?

Allow supermarkets to sell cheap booze, then say we have uncontrolled anti-social behaviour?

Allow bus routes and trains to be removed, then give free bus passes?

Close local hospitals to create central super ones, then build local health departments to cope?

Encourage buying diesel cars, to save our planet, then make diesel more expensive than petrol?

Encourage healthy eating, then allow local town centres to be flooded with takeaways?

Allow out of town supermarkets and shopping centres, then bemoan the decline in traditional town centre shopping?

Then the icing on the cake, strive to make life safer, better, healthier, more affluent, to live longer, then close down most nursing homes and rip you off and disrespect you in the ones that are left?

My advice is live life to the full, eat and drink what you want, drive everywhere and spend all your money before retirement, then if unlucky enough to still be alive you'll still be looked after as well as if you'd saved your money.
