THE date is June 6 and I again think of those brave and glorious men landing on D-Day June 6 1944.
Men who fought without thought for themselves, who were prepared to give their life for this country.
My father in law was one of those men.
Albert Hancock, 72nd Field Company of Royal Engineers, attached to the Canadian Army, landed on Juno beach, D-Day.
My thoughts return to today and I think, what would these brave men say if they knew the state this country was in.
In debt for the next 25 years, a living standard that is no better than 1970, rampant immigration, probably 280,000,000 by 2025, failing schools, failing hospitals who contribute to the death of 3500 people a year, approaching 3.5 million out of work and to crown it, politicians, councillors and quangos on the expenses gravy train.
I know what these heroes would say, ‘Why did we bother?’, but no they would not, for they were honourable men.
