Vote for someone who’s interested

I WRITE with regard to the recent public meeting held concerning the Caparo Aluminium factory in Wollaston and my disgust the lack of support and interest that was shown by our so called elected officials of the council. There are three councillors representing Wollaston and three for Amblecote.

None of the Amblecote councillors graced the meeting with their prescence thus denying those residents support from their elected represntatives.

In Wollaston one councillor attended but took no part and the other drafted in at the last minute felt that we were all exaggerating.

Presumably this arrogance and indifference comes from the councillors all benefitting from the current political climate rather than agenuine desire to represent the people of their constituencies.

I would therefore urge people to set aside party politics at the next council elections and vote for the people who are likely to show some interest in the issues that affect the people of their wards rather than self promotion.

With regard to the inference that the problems are minimal and exaggerated I would suggest that everyone affected e mail ALL of the councillors as well as the council on a VERY regular basis and then perhaps they will get the message.

Yours faithfully Kate Bennett Stourbridge
