Thanks for support in my quest

3:04pm Wednesday 1st October 2008

I WRITE to express my sincere thanks to the Stourbridge and Halesowen News (nee County Express) for publishing and promoting my quest to address the ‘red elastic band (REB)’ letter.

Anniversary was so very special...

3:11pm Wednesday 1st October 2008

WE would like to thank everyone at the Pocklington Trust Mary Stevens Centre for making the 50th anniversary such a lovely evening, meeting other people including the deputy mayor, councillor Pat Martin.

View so general

3:01pm Wednesday 1st October 2008

CR Brown has once again put his foot firmly in it with the statement, ‘I support fathers’.

Nice surgery – IF you get seen!

3:06pm Wednesday 1st October 2008

MY local doctors surgery has just moved to a nice new complex in Stourbridge with six doctors offering five day 9-6pm surgeries.

Top tips to make town place to be proud of!

2:59pm Wednesday 1st October 2008

HAVING lived in and around Stourbridge for a number of years, I am sorry to see the town centre looking so sorry for itself. I realise the council units are doing their best to keep the streets clean, but to a degree the problem lies with a small percentage of the people which visit the town.

Saddened sign is judged so offensive

2:53pm Wednesday 1st October 2008

I WAS saddened myself to read that someone could find the sign outside St James Primary school to be such an offensive thing.

Glad God forgives...

4:02pm Wednesday 24th September 2008

WELL done to Bryan Tarrant for such a wonderful point of view.

If evolution is no myth then God help us all...

3:57pm Wednesday 24th September 2008

THERE has been fair amount of media coverage on schools and the subjects of Evolution versus creation.

Evolution just part of it

3:54pm Wednesday 24th September 2008

DARWIN’S Theory of Evolution is, I think fair to say, supported by a vast array of scientific evidence and widely accepted by the vast majority of thinking people.

On ya bike

3:59pm Wednesday 24th September 2008

IN reply to the letter September 11th “ Take a lesson from London.”

Evolution does NOT equate to no God!

3:51pm Wednesday 24th September 2008

I FAIL to see any logic behind the thoughts of the writer of last week's letter concerning St James's School, Wollaston. Just because Charles Darwin's theory of Evolution can be shown to be broadly true does not mean that there is no God!

Consign Darwin to history book

3:49pm Wednesday 24th September 2008

I DO feel that someone ought to respond to the rather naive and irresponsible letter from, ‘Name and address supplied’, attacking St James’ CofE Primary School. One often finds that ignorance sees fit to hide itself under a cloak of anonymity.

Sorry to read such obvious bitterness

3:46pm Wednesday 24th September 2008

I CANNOT feel anything but sorrow for the obvious bitterness embodied in 'name and address supplied's' letter of 11.09.08 entitled 'Lying to Children'

Thanks to you all for such generosity!

11:21am Wednesday 17th September 2008

I AM writing on behalf of the Stourbridge Christian Aid Committee and all the collectors in Stourbridge to thank the people of Stourbridge for their generosity in supporting Christian Aid Week again in May 2008.

Shot in the dark for Sue

11:23am Wednesday 17th September 2008

I WAS wondering if through your newspaper you could help find a childhood friend of mine. Her name when I knew her was Susan Evans, she would be around 50 years of age now. I emigrated with my parents when I was 10, and over the years we kept in touch but lost contact sometime in the 1980s. Susan made contact with me again in about 1996 but I lost her contact address and didn’t communicate. We went to school together in Hagley (she was a couple of years older than me) in the 1960s and lived in Lodge Crescent, Hagley. She was one of four in the family, with a twin sister. I would dearly like to contact her again, so wondered if through your newspaper you could do something for me. It may be a longshot, as she may not even be living in the area, but someone in her family may recognize her name and it might lead to something – who knows.

Warming? I think not...

11:24am Wednesday 17th September 2008

AFTER the last two cold wet summers, people will see for themselves the nonsense of global warming.

Reorganisation’s merely a ruse..?

11:26am Wednesday 17th September 2008

IN recent weeks, I’ve read letters of concern about the removal of books from Stourbridge library.

Searching for friend

11:27am Wednesday 17th September 2008

I AM trying to contact a school friend of my uncle’s, the lady’s name is Norma Jones (maiden name).

Not a way to treat man’s best friend

11:19am Wednesday 17th September 2008

SEVERAL months ago, I entered the institutionalised and show business world of the pet dog. I have two American cocker spaniels and together we transcend the mundanities of everyday life, climbing hills or losing our way in woodland. For me, this is the very essence of pleasure for man and his dog.

What point protesting to perpetrators?

11:18am Wednesday 17th September 2008

WITH regard to the five Post Offices that are under threat of closure, namely the two on the Hagley Road at Pedmore and Oldswinford, plus Quarry Bank High Street, Silver End at Brierley Hill, and Barnett Lane in Kingswinford, would I be correct in assuming that all five (or the majority of them) fall within the constituences of Lynda Waltho MP and Ian Pearson MP? Both are Labour Members of Parliament, and according to the parliamentary voting records, for the 19th March 2008, both voted in the 'aye' lobby for the vote ' Post Office Closures - Commend's the Government's action.'
