AN epic one day music festival Rave Against Racism is being held in Birmingham later this month.

Over 100 acts and DJs will be descending on Alfie Birds, the Custard Factory, on Saturday, June 27 for the unique event.

Two Billion Beats, Automaton, Culture Dub Orchestra and Single Mum will be performing alongside legends Bentley Rhythm Ace, Brian Travers from UB40, Young Warrior and many more.

Jock Lee, founder of RAR, said: "This is going to be a fantastic day of world class music in one brilliant venue for a great cause.

"Rave Against Racism is a non profit organisation that aims to raise awareness about racism worldwide and the current rise of the far right in the UK and Europe.

He added: "We call on everyone involved in clubbing in all it's guises to join and show their support against racism.

"We need all DJs, producers, records labels, artists, promoters, press and clubbers to get on board and show racism will not be tolerated."

Celebrities, bands and DJs have started to get involved not just by playing, but also by wearing the already iconic Rave Against Racism t-shirts.

Sleaford Mods, Wookie, DJ Pierre, Jerry Dammers, Marshall Jefferson and more have all sported the t-shirts to help spread the word.

Rave Against Racism has been backed by the founders of Rock Against Racism which was founded in the 1970s and included Reggae giants Steel Pulse and UB40 and The Clash.

Amlak Tafari, from Steel Pulse, said: "Rave Against Racism is a brilliant way to get people from all different walks of life together to enjoy music."
