AMERICAN house legend Todd Terry is playing at his favourite Birmingham house night this Easter.

Wobble vs Hard Times at Digbeth's Spotlight is celebrating 24 years of the Branston Street club with the bending dancefloor.

Clubbers enjoyed nights at Wobble from its first night in 1992 until a decade later when it closed its doors in 2002.

Founder Phil Gifford is looking forward to Sunday's reunion party.

He said: "Todd is never really classed as one of the godfathers but we feel his importance is as great as the other greats like DJ Pierre and Frankie Knuckles because of his unique productions in the early days and as time has gone on.

"At Wobble we played 90 per cent of them week in week out so he is always welcome."

He added: "Wobble is where most young kids in the 1990s broke their clubbing cherry and they still remember it all with wide eyed love."

"We provided nights where all house, disco, underground or main stream music played to a responsive loved up crowd."

He added: "As well as Todd we have a brilliant line up of DJs including The Lovely Helen, Jason Shaw, Brotherton Wing, Silong and Harrison Daniels."

Todd Terry cut his musical teeth in New York in the early 1980s and by the 1990s his Masters At Work tunes were beginning to take hold on dance floors across the world.

He said: "I've been playing Hard Times for over 20 years now and have a real connection with the city.

"Music turns in cycles so it is great to see Wobble vs Hard Times become so popular again, it will be a great night."
