Tell your daughter she's off to the slaughter and prepare your liver for a megadeath because Bloodstock is back - and bigger than ever, writes Steve Zacharanda.

The line up for Bloodstock Open Air is a whos who of heavy and thrash metal acts and any rocker worth his salt will want to be Catton Hall between August 9 and 11.

Alice Cooper, Dimmu Borgir, Paradise Lost, The Black Dahlia Murder, Hatebreed, Nile and Evile are just to name a few of the acts that will be creating mayhem at the festival.

With three wondefully individual stages to choose from, The Ronnie James Dio stage, The Sophie Lancaster stage and the New Blood stage, metal fans will be in heaven.

On the Friday night Behemoth, The Dio Disciples, Watain, Sepultura are headlining, on Saturday Testament, Hatebreed, Santuary, Crowbar and a massive act to be announced on the 6th day of the 6th month at 6pm will be headling and on Sunday Alice Cooper, Dimmu Borgir, Paradise Lost and Anvil will be headlining.

The weekend promises to be one of the best musical events of 2012 and if you want to be part of it visit www.bloodstock.uk.com and tickets can be bought for individual days, the weekend and of course for camping.
