BIRIMINGHAM will be awash with top-quality tipples during a weekend dedicated to exotic drinks from around the world.

The city's cocktail weekend will run for three days and feature a variety of attractions including tequila tastings, Bloody Mary brunches and a cocktail time machine.

The event will get under way on Friday July 15 when headline sponsor Jim Beam will be hosting a tasting at The Jim Beam Hub @ Island Bar where people can collect wristbands which will give them access to around 30 attractions.

Wristband wearers will also be able get 'behind the bookcase' in The Lost and Found, visit Sipsmith's Secret Garden or a Meet the Blends Masterclass from Maxxium at The Bureau.

Other Friday events include The Barcardi Cocktail Time Machine at Gas Street Social, a Plymouth Gin Masterclass at The Jekyll & Hyde or a Licor 43 tasting at Amantia.

The programme for Saturday July 16 will start at the Le Grand Day Out, where Grey Goose will be presenting four serves of vodka at The Chameleon.

The vodka theme will continue at Chung Ying Central with a Tourunska & Goral vodka tasting, as well as a masterclass from Absolut Vodka at The Rose Villa Tavern.

For whisky lovers The Victoria will host a single malts masterclass while Rofuto will provide a taste of Tokyo in a Suntory Whisky tasting developed by The Food and Drink Events Company.

Tequila will be on the agenda at Bodega which will be hosting a session with Patron which will feature food offers from venues including Rub Smokehouse and Chung Ying Central.

On Sunday July 17, The Rose Villa Tavern is offering up a free bloody Mary with every brunch, Marmalade will be celebrating the last day of BCW with a Bols Genever and Craft Beer pairing session, and at Buffalo and Rye, Jim Beam will be running a Jim Beam bourbon family masterclass.
