BOTH Biddy Denton and Louise Bennett will be flying the flag for Stourbridge Golf Club this weekend when they will attempt to win the prestigious Daily Mail Foursomes.

The pair will travel to Marriott St Pierre in Chepstow looking to make their mark in what is regarded as the greatest amateur golfing event in the world.

Biddy and Louise only began their partnership back in March, but already they have proved a real force having successfully negotiated seven qualifying rounds to reach Chepstow.

Over 2,000 clubs originally entered the competition at the !st Round draw stage, with Biddy and Louise steadily winning their way through the Midland section.

Their route to the final saw them progress through Bridgnorth, Handsworth, Kidderminster, Worfield, Rose Hill (Lickey Hills), Forest of Arden and finally Wrekin.

It wasn’t all plain sailing, especially at Rose Hill where Biddy and Louise had to play their way to the 20th hole before progressing.

The Stourbridge duo faced another severe test at Wrekin, where they finally won on the 16th hole.

From the original 2,000 clubs that started out, the competition has now been whittled down to the final 16 with pairs taking part from the length and breadth of Britain.

Biddy and Louise will journey to Chepstow on Sunday for a practise round before the competition begins on Monday, culminating with the final two pairs on Tuesday afternoon.
