TIVIDALE manager Ian Long thinks missed chances are costing his side.

Tivi played out a stalemate with Loughborough Dynamo at The Beeches on Saturday following last week's exit from the FA Cup against Leek Town.

Long said: "We've had a good start to the season but it could have been a brilliant one if we'd just have taken a few more chances.

"We had the opportunities against Loughborough to take the points but failed to do so.

"With better finishing we could still be in the FA Cup and be three points better off in the league."

Now, with striker Jordan Archers still out for at least another six weeks with a foot injury, Long is keen to add to his firepower.

"We bought in Jazz Luckie at the start of the season and there is plenty more to come from him, but I still want to add another forward to the squad," added Long.

Against Loughborough, Tivi had first half efforts from Danny Ashton and Sam Rock sail wide.

The second half started much better and Dynamo 'keeper James Lindley was soon in action as he saved a Karl Edwards effort on 55 minutes.

Six minutes later, Edwards had another half chance as he collected a Nigel Penney flick on with his back to goal but could not keep down his shot on the turn.

The game ended with both sides reduced to 10 men. First on 82 minutes, Tividale’s Mitchell Botfield was given a straight red for a dangerous tackle before Loughborough's Joe Pheasant was given his marching orders for a second caution in jury time.

With the last kick of the game, Tividale substitute Luckie did find the back of the net but his strike was ruled out for offside.

Tivi were due to take on Stafford Rangers away last night before travelling to Stocksbridge this Saturday.
