DYNAMO Dudley got the better of Thimblemill Recreation in Group A of the Beacon League's Premier Cup.

In a game of two contrasting halves, Dynamo Dudley had the better first 45 minutes with goals from Ben Hickman, Shaun Davenport and Joe Lawley to give them a commanding 3-0 lead.

The second half saw Thimblemill battle back and have the better chances. However, they were unable to find the back of the net until late on in the game. Eventually they broke down the Dynamo defence and reduced the deficit with goals from James Crofts and Ricardo Robinson.

Despite Dynamo being reduced to 10 men, Thimblemill were unable to find the equaliser.

In Group B, A handball in the box saw Bushbury EMB Rovers awarded a penalty as they played away from home against AFC Tipton.

Ryan Lloyd stepped up to convert the spot kick to see Bushbury take the lead on 20 minutes.

A foul in the opposite penalty box barely 10 minutes later saw Matthew Dudley calmly slot the ball into the Bushbury goal to level the score to 1-1 for the half time break.

The second half saw AFC Tipton tire and Bushbury stepped up the pace.

Two goals in two minutes for Kyle Matthews and Patrick Rafferty saw Bushbury take a 3-1 lead which was too much for ACF Tipton to come back from and they left empty handed as the final score was AFC Tipton 1, Bushbury EMB Rover 3.

In Group A of the Falcon Insurance Beacon Cup, a second half goal for Arjan Singh proved to be a consolation goal for BNG FC Handsworth as they lost 7-1 at home to Eastfield. Eastfield played well and saw hot shot Timol McKellop bag six goals with John Lengyer adding his name to the score sheet as Eastfield enjoyed a comprehensive victory.

It was honours even for Sedgley Phoenix and Pensnett Panthers. Pensnett Panthers went 1-0 up on 20 minutes through a Steve Jeavons goal, before Josh Darby equalised on 43 minutes for the teams to go in one apiece at the break.

Sedgley Phoenix went ahead after the break, before Pensnett drew level again thanks to an own goal from Dan Evans and both teams had to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw.

In Group B, Sandwell Action put an end to Ellowes Hall’s unbeaten run in their first match in the Beacon Cup group stage.

Lee Wood headed in from a free kick on 25 minutes to put Sandwell ahead, before a great individual run five minutes later saw Tom Stanaway equalise for Ellowes Hall.

The second half saw end to end play with chances for both sides missing their mark. Seven minutes from time Joseph Noel scored a great individual effort to give Sandwell the win.
