CRADLEY skipper Paul Starke is desperate to see his side retain their National League Fours title at Coventry this weekend.

A sensational maximum from Starke helped the Heathens claim a dramatic victory in the event last year on their way to a clean sweep of honours.

Despite a reshuffled side, the club have remained in rampant form in 2014 as they continue to dominate the third tier of British racing.

In-form Steve Worrall and young guns Max Clegg and Tom Perry will join Starke to form a heavily-favoured Heathens quartet as they travel to Coventry searching for silverware on Sunday.

And Starke is desperate to repeat their success of 12 months ago on what promises to be an exciting afternoon.

He said: "Winning the Fours last year like we did was a great moment in the season, so to win it again this year would be awesome.

"Obviously you go into every meeting wanting to win, so that's what we are going there to do.

"We've got a strong side and we are all on good form at the moment so we should have a good chance, but you never know with these sorts of meetings.

"It's going to be tough but we are all going in high on confidence, so fingers crossed things go our way and we can come out on top.

"It would be great to win our first silverware of the season, so that's what we are aiming for.

"I had a really good meeting in the Fours last year so hopefully I can put in another good performance.

"You need everyone to contribute really in this format, so I'll try and score plenty of points and fingers crossed the rest of the boys do the same.

"It's going to be an exciting afternoon, and it would be awesome if we could end it by winning a trophy for Cradley."

Heathens host their final home meeting of the season at Wolverhampton next Tuesday when they will face King’s Lynn in the Knockout Cup Final.

Admission prices have been pegged at the normal rate of £11 adults, £8 concessions and £2 children with a souvenir cup final programme produced for £3.

Cradley were set to launch their bid for treble joy last night when taking on Coventry in the first leg of the National League Grand Final at Monmore Green.
