DUDLEY Dynamo beat Thimblemill Recreation 4-1 at home in the Beacon League's Premier Division.

The contest was one of just six fixtures to survive the freezing condition.

Joe Lawley was first on the score sheet as he powered Dynamo ahead, with Leon Naylor doubly their lead before the half time whistle.

After the break, Aaron Lloyd and Ste Jones both netted for the home team to put Dynamo four goals up before Thimblemill managed to score a consolation goal courtesy of Adam Jones.

In Division One, leaders Ellowes Hall played hosts to fifth placed Island Inn.

In a battling game, Ellowes broke the deadlock after only five minutes thanks to James Gadd, who had an easy tap in after the ball bounced over Island Inn’s goalkeeper for a 1-0 half time lead.

Despite going down to 10 men just before the break, Ellowes maintained their lead during the second half and an excellent strike from Reuben Smith ensured they maintain top spot with all three points from a 2-0 victory.

In the Beacon Cup, Sedgley Phoenix were at home to Eastfield in a game which saw Phoenix dominate from the first whistle.

Joseph Johns put them ahead before Al Westwood doubled their lead. Josh Darby then bagged a brace for a 4-0 half time lead.

Eastfield were unable to find any reply as the second half saw Phoenix continue in the same vein.

Dan Evans and Nick Lewis each bagged a brace but it was Tom Nicholls who put the final nail in the coffin with his goal of the match. He chested the ball down and volleyed it into the top corner from the edge of the box to seal an emphatic 9-0 victory.
