CARL Douglas has praised the attitude of his Dudley Kingswinford players despite the fact they are slipping towards back-to-back relegations.

DK will welcome Hinckley to Heathbrook this Saturday as the director of rugby perseveres with his goal of getting the best out of his squad.

"I can't fault the attitude of the players at all," he said. "It has been a difficult season and we have had a few issues, such as selection problems and the depth of our squad at times, but the attitude of the players has not been one of them.

"We are just taking it game by game and working on improving as a group.

"Plans going on behind the scenes for next season will not affect the players on the pitch. That is a separate matter and we are just focused on our improvement and the things we can do to have an impact on the scoreboard each week."

DK have claimed just one win all season and defeat away at second-from-bottom Burton at the end of January all but consigned them to another relegation.

However, Douglas has already said he wants to help lead the turnaround at Heathbrook and has confirmed plans are in place for the club to bounce back.

He has a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of Saturday's game with Hinckley (2.15pm kick off).
