GREG Wright has stepped down as captain of Himley after the club's winless start to the season.
Wright decided to relinquish the role after speaking to club officials after last Saturday's narrow four wicket defeat away at Harborne.
It brings to an end his second spell at the helm, though he will continue to play for the club as a batsman.
Worcestershire man Tom Kohler-Cadmore will replace him as skipper for this Saturday's home game against Leamington.
Himley suffered relegation from the Birmingham and District Premier Division last season and had hoped to fight for an immediate return after a host of new additions.
However, a disappointing start to the campaign continued at Harborne and left Wright dejected with the captain's role.
Wright said: "The club were happy for me to continue but I just think it is time for a change.
"I have got to the point where I'm not enjoying it anymore, the last year has really taken its toll.
"I need to recapture that love of playing again and will now concentrate on my batting and helping the team that way.
"We are a good side, the team spirit is very good and the effort is all there. I have no doubt we will turn the corner very soon.
"Hopefully a new voice and someone with the enthusiasm to do the job will bring out the best in us."
