MANAGER Gary Hackett has moved to bring in Tividale goalkeeper Charlie Price to replace Dean Coleman at Stourbridge.

The arrival of the young stopper at the War Memorial Ground follows the arrival last week of midfielder Lee Chilton as the Glassboys boss continues his summer recruitment drive.

His mission to revamp the squad after last season’s disappointing campaign has also seen midfielder Jordan Fitzpatrick follow Coleman’s exit.

Hackett said: “It is great to have Charlie at the club. He is a confident lad and can do really well for us.

“He will now come in and work alongside Lewis Solly for the number one spot.

“It was not an easy decision for me to let go of Dean Coleman. He has had a good two-and-a-half years at the club and has been a real hero.

“It is the same with Jordan Fitzpatrick. He has also played his part and they are both local lads that have been fantastic at times for us. I wish them the very best of luck for the future.”

Goalkeeper Price comes to the Glassboys after playing a major part in Tividale’s recent success. Tivi have held their own in the Northern Premier League Division One South and also defend their JW Hunt Cup crown this season.

Meanwhile, Stour have announced changes to their management structure to allow Hackett more time to assess potential new signings during the season.

Current first team coach Mark Clifton will now work alongside Jon Ford as joint assistant manager.

The move also sees Rob Williams appointed as a new first team coach in Clifton’s place.

Williams is a highly experienced coach and holds the UEFA ‘A’ Preparatory Certificate, UEFA ‘B’ Licence and FA Youth Award.

He has recently been working with the FA as a coach educator and coach mentor.

Hackett added: “We will all be working closely with each other but this will allow me more time to look at players.

“The job is becoming more and more demanding and is about being more professional as a club.

“I think Rob will prove a good addition and I’m pleased to have him on board.

“Last season we made some signings on recommendations and that didn’t work out. This change is about eliminating that from happen again.

“It was a poor season but one we are keen to learn from. This was one of the areas that I thought needed addressing.”
