OLD Hill skipper Dan Cox thinks his side could have taken a lot more from their game against Bromsgrove last Saturday.

The Boars left Haden Hill with a winning draw in a hard-fought encounter in Division One of the Birmingham Premier League.

A fightback from the Bromsgrove tail enabled them to make 214-9 at the end of their innings.

However, Old Hill could only make 167-6 in reply.

Cox said: "I really think we could have got more from the game.

"If we could have improved just a few small aspects then I think we had a real chance of winning.

"We had them on the back foot at one stage but they battled back well. We still would have taken 214 before we started so we were pleased with that."

Cox again said batsmen, including himself, need to start making big scores after getting in.

Only wicketkeeper Dan Brosnan (52 not out) went beyond a half century.

"If one of use in the top order could have made a big score then I think we probably would have won it.

"It all shows that this side has a lot more to offer and is potentially very good.

"We have played some top sides now and shown we are more than capable.

"Our aim now is to win two or three on the bounce to really push ourselves into the mix at the top of the table."

That could start this Saturday when seventh-placed Old Hill travel to take on second-from-bottom side Wellington.
