WRITE us off at your peril is the message from Tividale boss Ross Thorpe after his side's barnstorming second half showing at Sheffield earned a valuable away point.

Thorpe was delighted with the character his players showed to secure a 3 - 3 draw last Saturday.

A brace from Malachi Farquharson and a Jordan Cullinane-Liburd strike earned them a hard-fought point after they found themselves 3 - 1 down at the break.

Thorpe said: "I have had the privilege of working for some very good clubs, but the character we showed to come back in the second half was up their with anything I have ever seen.

"People are writing us off and we can use that to our advantage.

"Anyone that does want to write us off can do so.

"We are not a team that has recently been put together anymore. You could have paired us with anyone at this level during that second half and we would have held our own."

The point means Tivi are now unbeaten in six out of their last seven games ahead of this Saturday's clash at the Beeches against third-placed Coalville Town.

"We perhaps didn't defend well enough during the first half but you have to give Sheffield credit for their finishing," added Thorpe.

"At half time I explained to the players that sometimes you have to go to places like their and dig out results. That's how the season is divided up.

"Good summer pitches are replaced by difficult conditions and you have to adapt and show real fight.

"They went out and worked really hard, showed great spirit and fully deserved the draw in the end. Tom Turner didn't have a save to make in the second half.

"It felt like a win at the end and is the sort of result that can really lift us.

"There is no pressure on us again this Saturday. They are massive favourites to beat us.

"People still believe it is a black mark by their name if they don't beat us. I think we'll soon start getting credit for how we are playing."

Cameron Burns and Lewis Wright are set to return for the clash but Mark Danks and Demetri Brown could still be a couple of weeks away.

Thorpe and joint-boss Phil Male have boosted their ranks with the arrival of Craig Stevens from Bolehall and Tom Turton from Sutton.
