TONY Gore has challenged his Dudley Sports players to build another run after a disappointing defeat at Cradley Town last Saturday.

Sports have lost just two league games in the last 13, but were thrashed 5-1 at their high-flying neighbours.

Danny Priest, Lewis Clarke, Luke Williams, R’mar Murray and Scott Stevenson all netted for the hosts.

Shepherd Machingauta hit Dudley’s only goal of the game in the 54th minute.

Gore said: “The scoreline is more of a reflection of how badly we played. If Cradley didn’t beat us then they never would.

“We defended terribly and just weren’t at it at all. I don’t know what happened.

“It was disappointing for everyone but all we can do is move on quickly. We have to put it right as soon as possible and look to put another good run together.

“We are still handily placed in the league and it is now all about how we respond.”

Sports welcome Stone Old Alleynians to Hillcrest Avenue on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Curtis Cocking is in contention after playing the final 20 minutes against Cradley following a long-term injury.

Meanwhile, Dudley Town will be looking to turn their form around when they host Wolverhampton Casuals at the Dell this Saturday (3pm).

The 16th-placed Robins have won just one of their last five league outings and will be mindful not to be dragged into a relegation scrap.

Nigel Kirkham’s men will be keen to get back into action after having a break in the fixture list last Saturday.
