PHOENIX claimed a 1-0 away win over Hadcroft Rovers in the Dudley and Cradley League's Horace Benjamin Trophy.

In a very tight game with few chances neither team found the net in the first half.

The second half was similar to the first half with few chances for either team. The deadlock was broken in the 84th minute when a Dylan Shepherd strike found the back of the net for the only goal of the game. Hadcroft thought they had equalised in the 88th minute but it was deemed that the ball did not fully cross the line.

In the same competition, Roebuck beat Hasbury Colts 3-1 away.

Hasbury started well but it was Roebuck who opened the scoring when a in-swinging corner was well saved by keeper Jay Crampton only to see the ball to fall to the feet of Jack Green who turned the ball in from five yards. Hasbury continued to push and just as the interval was almost on them Hasbury equalised when an intelligent pas from Alex Bright was crossed in by Jake Tromans for Rob Hunt to score.

Roebuck started the second half stronger but did come under some pressure from Hasbury but they could not convert any second half chances.

On 75 minutes, a Chris Hunt corner was defended back out to him and his shot found the bottom corner of the net. A late goal from Jack Green sealed the win for Roebuck.

In the Premier Division, AFC Turners bagged a 2-1 win at Charlton House.

A great game played by two of the league’s best sides, Charlton House came close to beating the undefeated AFC Turners.

Turners opened the scoring on 20 minutes with the prolific Geoff Hill scoring a brilliant individual goal beating three players in the process and finding the bottom corner of the Charlton goal.

However, Charlton House immediately equalised on 25 minutes when Luke Moulton capitalised on a defensive mistake in the Turners back line beating a hapless Mark Garvey in the Turners goal. Dave Homer made a string of fine savers for Charlton in the first half denying Geoff Hill twice on 25 and 40 minutes. On 42 minutes, Charlton hit Turners on the break with Asif Ahmed hitting a screaming goal bound shot for it only to be tipped onto the post by a world class save from Mark Garvey.

The second half followed the first and was closely fought by both sides. On 47 minutes and arguably the best move of the match a free flowing move by AFC Turners resulted in a great team goal finished by Keiron Snead latching onto a Chris Brown through ball. On 50 minutes, Charlton House nearly equalised when Wayne Marsh escaped the Turners defence to only be denied again by Mark Garvey tipping the resulting shot onto the post.

AFC Turners had several chances to add to their tally but Dave Homer again made a string of fine saves to keep Charlton House in the game.

Kingswinford secored a 4-3 win a Lloyds.

Lloyds opened the scoring with a well taken goal from Rhys Harper. Joe Lawley equalised for Kingswinford before Luke Fellows gave Kingswinford the lead with a great 25 yard strike that gave the keeper no chance.

Lloyds pushed hard at the start of the second half for the equaliser but it was Kingswinford who found the net next with a second for Luke Fellows.

Kingswinford then scored their fourth with a fine volley from Josh Mills just inside the box. Lloyds did not give up and with 10 minutes to go Rhys Harper poked the ball in for his and Lloyds' second.

Lloyds kept pushing and were rewarded when Lee Witts hit a great volley into the net. Lloyds' revival came too late as they ran out of time to take anything from the clash.
