WINGER Chris Lait and goalkeeper Matt Gould have both signed contracts with the Glassboys through to the end of the 2016/17 season.

Lait, who joined Stourbridge from Rushall Olympic towards the end of the 2014/15 campaign, was the Glassboys’ joint second highest scorer last season with 16 goals, including stunning strikes in the FA Cup wins against Kidderminster Harriers and Dover Athletic, and continually impressed with his driving runs from the left flank.

He notched up his 50th appearance in the 3-2 win at Sutton Coldfield Town, marking the occasion with a goal, and has now made a total of 64 appearances for the Glassboys, with 19 goals.

Gould signed for Stourbridge on loan from Scottish Championship side Livingston in January this year, and proved to be a solid presence behind the back four, impressing many as Stourbridge pushed towards the play-offs.

He began his career in New Zealand, and also played for Cheltenham Town before moving to Scotland. The son of former Coventry City and Celtic goalkeeper Jonathan, and grandson of ex-Coventry, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers striker and West Bromwich Albion and Wales manager Bobby, made a total of 21 appearances for the Glassboys after signing.

Both men were vital last term and add to defender Dan Scarr who is already under contract at the War Memorial Ground as manager Gary Hackett begins to build squad for next season.
