NETHERTON’S fine form was halted with defeat at Kempsey last Saturday.

They had been looking to make it three wins on the bounce but suffered a six-wicket loss after being bowled out cheaply.

The hosts had earlier won the toss and elected to field.

It was a decision that proved a good one as Netherton’s openers soon fell.

Skipper Russell Oseland went for a duck before Matthew Lowe followed for just one run. Both men were the victim of Kempsey bowler Adam Baker (2-13).

Troy Lee’s 54 offered some resistance but he was soon struggling to find a partner.

Samuel O’Neill (2-39) and Simon Dorrell (3-19) cleaned out the tail as Netherton ended their innings on 125.

Kempsey reached their target by the 30th over for the loss of four wickets.

Samuel O’Neill top-scored for the hosts with 40.

Netherton will look to bounce back to winning ways when they welcome Rushwick to Highbridge Road this Saturday (1pm start).
