MANAGER John Hill hopes Halesowen Town's FA Cup win over Coleshill Town can help kick-start his side's early season form.

The Yeltz won 3-0 at the Grove last Saturday to bag only their second success of the campaign.

A double from Kaiman Anderson and a strike from Ethan Delaney handed Hales a place in the next round.

Hill thinks the cup win could hand his side a much-needed boost.

He said: "We have had a tough start to the season in terms of the teams we have had to play, but hopefully the win will give us some renewed confidence now.

"It could be that the cup game came at just the right time for us.

"The challenge is take that win into our next league game and see if it can kick-start our season for us.

"Before the game we knew it would be tough. Coleshill are a strong side and we didn't want to read too much into the fact they are in a lower league because they have a lot of players that have played at a higher level.

"But we approached it in the right way and deserved to come out on top."

The Yeltz have been handed a home clash with Belper Town in the FA Cup second qualifying round. The tie will be played on Saturday, September 17 at 3pm.

"The home draw is the main thing for us even though Belper will be a very difficult game," added Hill.

His side will return to league action this Saturday when promotion hopeful Workington visit the Grove (3pm kick-off).

The boss has bolstered his squad with three new arrivals.

Defensive midfielder George Cleet has joined the Yeltz following his departure from West Bromwich Albion where he played for 11 years, in that time having loan spells at both Worcester City and Hednesford Town.

He joins midfielder Jordan Goddard and attacking left-sided full-back James Hancocks, who comes in on loan from Kidderminster Harriers.

Hancocks, who joins until January, came through the ranks at Harriers Academy and captained of the title-winning under-19 side in the National League Alliance.

Hill has also said other new faces could follow, saying: "We still want to strengthen the squad and are now looking at other options.

"It has been a tough start for us and we know we need to look at getting other players in."

Meanwhile, the club are appealing Delaney's red card against Coleshill after reviewing video evidence.
