DUDLEY Kingswinford return to winning ways with victory over Crewe and Nantwich last Saturday.

DK secured the much-needed 53-12 success to halt a three-game losing run and get their campaign back on track.

Director of rugby Neil Shillingford was pleased that his side we able to show what they are capable of.

He said: "We were still a little bit edgy in the first 20 minutes but then we got our first couple of scores and confidence grew.

"It was really good to finally see the players able to put what we have been talking about on the training paddock into action.

"Everything we wanted all came together. We played with power, pace and fast ball."

Shillingford thinks it's now important that his players learn to win when things aren't going to plan.

"We need to develop a plan B moving forwards," he said.

"We will be working on winning when things aren't falling into place for us. Our game management and ability to impose ourselves more is an area we can improve.

"The previous weekend against Burton showed us that we need to improve how we play when the rain is falling and conditions aren't as good for us to play our usual game."

DK now have a break from league action when they hosts Newport in the North Mids Cup at Heathbrook this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Shillingford added: "It is a little frustrating that we don't have a league game because it would have been good to have tried to build on our victory.

"It does mean that we may still name a strong team and avoid too many changes so that we can try and build some momentum anyway."

Jimmy Parkes is set to miss the clash with a broken hand and Stef Shillingford and Joe Francis will have injuries assessed this week.
