DIRECTOR of Rugby Neil Mitchell says he will make changes to the team ahead of this Saturday's visit of Preston Grasshoppers to Stourton Park.

Stourbridge lost their fourth game of the season when they slipped to a 14-9 defeat at Caldy last weekend.

Mitchell is ready to wield the axe as he looks to cut out the individual errors that are costing his side.

He said: "Caldy was a game we should have won. We had defended well against their rolling maul and had parity in the scrums.

"But once again we could carry that into the second half.

"One missed tackle has ended up costing us again and it is something we need to cut out.

"Unforced errors are hurting us and some players are trying to run before they can walk.

"Our best play this season has come from our good ball retention and we'll be concentrating on that again.

"There will be changes this week because we can't keep making the same mistakes."

Chad Thorne and Jack Lea are both fit again and could be in contention to features this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Mitchell thinks Stour still well in the race to finish top of National Two North despite their mixed results.

He said: "A good win against Preston coupled with other results going our well will put us right back up there.

"We can't make anymore mistakes though. If we do then I think we'll only be looking at the play-offs this season.

"It is a very close league and we've already played the teams above us. If we cut out the mistakes then we can still challenge."
