MANAGER John Hill has backed his Halesowen Town players to push away from the relegation zone.

The Yeltz sit just two places and seven points above the Northern Premier League's bottom four and have not won in eight games.

They drew 0-0 with fourth-from-bottom side Sutton Coldfield on Boxing Day and now face a trip to basement boys Corby Town on Friday.

Hill thinks his side should have taken all three points from Sutton and said his players are close to turning the corner.

"We were definitely the better side in the second half but just couldn't put a chance away," he said.

"The fact their keeper was the man of the match after pulling off a string of saves tells you everything.

"It was no classic but it was a tricky match because they are unbeaten in five every team is dangerous in this league.

"The clean sheet was pleasing and we'll move on.

"We're desperate to get three points on the board but we'll turn the corner.

"Everyone is training hard and looking forward to the next few games."

The Yeltz will go to Hednesford on January 2 follow the clash at Corby.

"Corby is going to be a tough game and we won't read anything into the fact they are bottom," added Hill.

"They have some good players and will be a threat. We'll have to make sure we're at our best but a win would hopefully give us the lift we need."

Hales will have star striker Kaiman Anderson until the end of January when his loan from Shrewsbury Town expires.
