GARY Hackett says the packed away end at Adams Park will be all the inspiration his Stourbridge players need to cause an FA Cup upset at Wycombe Wanderers this Saturday.

The Glassboys will face the biggest game in the club's history when they take on the League Two side in the third round of the famous competition (3pm kick-off).

They will be cheered on by more than 2,000 travelling supporters and Hackett thinks the brilliant backing could make all the difference as he eyes another giant-killing.

The tickets for the tie were snapped up before they even made it on general sale.

He said: "Without doubt it is the biggest game in the club's history and it has really caught the imagination of everyone.

"It will be a great occasion and one we have to relish and enjoy. We really do have nothing to lose.

"The sight of thousands of Stourbridge fans in the away end will be great to see and should really give the players a massive lift just before kick-off."

The manager also backed his side to give Wycombe a tough test, adding: "We have shown before that we have players that are capable of stepping up on the big occasion. Everyone is nice and relaxed and looking forward to the game now.

"Wycombe will think they have been handed the easiest draw, and on paper they have, but we must show them that isn't the case in reality.

"We go there thinking we have a chance of an upset and the support we get will only help us."

Stour go into the game in fine spirits after extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to 13 games thanks to Monday's 1-0 win at Barwell.

Jack Duggan's goal early in the second half edged the Glassboys to a valuable three points.

Duggan was left unmarked at the far post and had time to control Matt Dodd's 52nd-minute cross from the right before placing the ball calmly beyond Liam Castle for what turned out to be the only goal of the match.

Connor Gater went closest in the first half with his shot from 25 yards taking the slightest deflection before cannoning off the post and away to safety.

For Barwell, right back Cleveland Taylor forced the only save of note from Matt Gould on 59 minutes as the Glassboys keeper turned his effort wide for a corner.

The win lifts the Glassboys up to 9th in the Premier Division table.

"It was a very good win at a place that has been tough for us in the past," added Hackett, who has a fully fit squad to pick from ahead of Saturday's historic FA Cup encounter.
