STOURBRIDGE have signed defender Kieren Westwood from Stratford Town.

Westwood, who won two player of the season awards for Town last term, has linked up with the Glassboys to ease their injury woes.

The left back can also operate further forward to give Gary Hackett even more options.

The boss has moved quickly to boost numbers at Amblecote following injuries to Jack Duggan, Chris Lait and Matt Dodd.

Stour have also seen defenders Kristian Green, Dan Scarr and Junior Smikle leave since the turn of the year.

Westwood linked up ahead of last night's victory over Ashton United and Hackett is hoping to add a central defender ahead of the weekend.

The boss said: "Since the Wycombe game we have lost Kristian Green, Dan Scarr, Jack Duggan, Junior (Smikle) has left, Conor Gater has had to go back.

"Stuart Pierpoint has come in with Chris Knight and done magnificent jobs. But I do know I still need to get some faces in because I've got Chris Knight unavailable for two weeks now so it's going to be tough.

"We have signed Kieren Westwood and I'm hoping we'll have a centre half in by the end of the week."
