PEDMORE lifted themselves out of the bottom two with a 144 run victory against top of the table Cookley.

After going into bat, Dan Jones (76) and Dave Skelding (61) put the home team into pole position with some impressive shots.

Reaching 255 for 8, Pedmore set the visitors a tough total to reach but neither side would have expected what was to come.

A brilliant bowling performance from Pedmore, including a pair of wickets each for James Burgoyne (2-26), Jonathan Heardman (2-16), Daniel Cooper (2-16) and Jack Patchett (2-11), saw Cookley bowled out for 111.

The result gives an improving Pedmore – who have now won four of their last five matches in the Worcestershire County League Division One – a much-needed 20 points. They now sit third from bottom in the table and nine points away from nearest rivals Eastnor.

Another victory looks to be on the cards this weekend as Pedmore travel to bottom club Droitwich Spa, who have not won a game all season.
