STOURBRIDGE could still be without key men Matt Dodd and Tom Tonks for this Saturday's visit of Witton Albion.

Winger Dodd picked up an ankle injury against Halesowen and is still only rated as 50/50 by boss Gary Hackett, while midfield talisman Tonks is still suffering the side effects of a car crash last week.

Tonks played through the pain as Stour beat Basford United 1-0 in the FA Trophy last Saturday but had to watch from the sidelines as the Glassboys beat Sutton Coldfield on Tuesday night.

Despite Dodd and Tanks missing out, Hackett's men bagged a fine 4-0 away success after a busy week of arrivals and departures at the War Memorial Ground.

The game saw new forwards Luke Shearer and Kyle Perry net their first goals for the club. They have been joined at Amblecote by midfielder Aaron Birch and defender Kennedy Digie, who is back on-loan from Kidderminster Harriers.

The move for fresh faces followed the departure of attacker Devarn Green to Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee and Jordan Archer to Chester. Danny O’Callaghan also moved on to Sutton Coldfield.

However, Hackett said the recent change in personnel made Tuesday's success even sweeter.

"It was pleasing to get the win, especially after we have brought in the new players," he said.

"It is never easy having to change style and personnel but we have had to find solutions pretty quickly.

"We'll put it into perspective, we've played a Sutton Coldfield side that is short of confidence at the moment. We were quietly efficient in what we did and the thing that was most pleasing is that there is more to come from us.

"It'll again take time for the new players to settle in but I'm happy with what we have been able to do.

"Luke Shearer is an exciting player and Kyle (Perry) has been there and done it and is a very talented target man."

The win over Sutton also marked a return for experienced midfielder Drew Canavan.

He is back at the War Memorial Ground after a spell with Stourport Swifts earlier this season.

Stour's Trophy success has handed them an away clash with St Neots in the next round on Saturday, November 11.

Meanwhile, this Saturday's Northern Premier League contest with Witton (3pm kick-off) will see the club offering free entry to current and former servicemen and women.

Anyone planning to take up the offer is asked to take any form of ID that confirms they have served in the forces or their Royal British Legion membership with them to show at the turnstiles.

The club will also be running a bucket collection during the day with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.
