NEIL Shillingford labelled Dudley Kingswinford's victory over Melbourne as their most "rounded and complete" performance of the season.

DK demolished their visitors from Derbyshire to record another bonus point success with a 59-0 home win last Saturday.

It also proved a good weekend as promotion rivals Bromsgrove slipped up against Stoke.

It was the clean sheet that most pleased the director of rugby at Heathbrook.

Shillingford said: "The shut-out was the most pleasing aspect of the game for us.

"We were all a little disappointed after the Lutterworth win that we let in a few late tries. We spoke about being more ruthless and managed to put that into practice.

"We know we can score tries so defending the way we did was a massive bonus.

"I think it has to go down as our most rounded and complete performance of the season so far.

"Melbourne weren't a bad outfit. It was a tough encounter against a well-drilled side but they caught us on a really good day."

DK don't have a game this weekend but do host local rivals Old Halesonians under the lights at Heathbrook in the North Mids Plate on Thursday night (7.45pm kick-off).

Shillingford added: "It's a game we're looking forward to and one we want to win to keep our momentum going.

"I won't be making too many changes for that reason. The spine of the side will stay the same but I will use it as an opportunity to give a run out to players that have been struggling for game-time or those that have been coming off the bench lately.

"Old Hales are having a tough season in the league above but it's important we approach it in the right way to keep that momentum going heading towards Christmas."

DK will return to league action when Moseley Oak visit on Saturday, November 25.
