A NEW bespoke girls’ All Stars programme at Kidderminster Cricket Club is hoping to attract youngsters from a wide area.
The eight-week ECB programme for five to eight-year-olds will launch the club’s ground-breaking Women’s and Girls Hub, aimed at developing a thriving female section to run alongside its long established junior and senior sections.
Junior section chairman Sarah Beadsworth said: “Girls have always been welcome, but numbers have been such that we have run mixed teams only. Now that we can draw from a much bigger area we hope these girls will create the first cohort of our new hub.
“This is a very exciting development, boosting opportunities for girls and women to become a major force in cricket in Worcestershire, and we are delighted to have been selected to develop a hub by the county cricket board.”
The programme will run from Friday May 11 at Kidderminster’s Chester Road ground, 6pm until 6.45pm. Registration is online at https://ecb.clubspark.uk/AllStars/At/KidderminsterGirlsCC
