THERE is no stopping high-flying Dynamo Dudley in their quest for another Beacon Sunday League treble.

This week they picked up the season's first piece of silverware when hitting Sandwell Action 6-0 in the final of the league's flagship competition, the Lester Charity Cup, at AFC Wulfrunians ground.

It was another impressive performance by Dynamo who showed Sandwell no mercy as they cracked three goals in each half, on the way to claiming a third consecutive success in this particular knockout, so making league history.

Dynamo, who are also hunting a third league championship crown and have reached the last four of the Wilkes Tranter Chell Cup, opened their account on 12 minutes when Leon Naylor burst into a crowded Sandwell box and drilled home.

Just before the half hour, leading scorer Ben Hickman increased Dynamo's advantage with the first of his three, before club captain Aaron Lloyd led by example when stooping low to head in a right wing corner to put his side well in control at the break.

With Sandwell losing skipper Michael Knott to injury for the start of the second half, his replacement Abdul Dango injected some life into Sandwell after the restart, but the Dynamo defence stood firm.

In contrast, Sandwell keeper Tom Sutton often came between Dynamo and additional goals, before Hickman went on to complete his hat-trick, netting either side of a low drive from Shawn Devonport that helped make it six of the best.

Staying with the domestic cup theme and both the Wilkes Tranter Chell and the Concentric Sales & Lettings Clinton competitions are nearing the semi final knockout stages.

Group matches continued this week and Claregate Park Rangers secured their spot in the last four of the Chell Cup, rounding off their qualifying group games with a 4-2 success at Black Country Fusion.

Dynamo join Claregate in the knockout stages following a 2-1 midweek triumph over Sandwell, while the other two places in the last four are still undecided.

In the Clinton Cup, Pensnett Panthers and Penn Rovers have already qualified and have been drawn against each other in the first semi final this Sunday, at The Dell Stadium.

Wyrley Juniors reserves have also progressed and they made certain with a hard fought 3-2 home win over AFC Sporting Gornal, and there was a third group win for Black Country Rangers as they claimed a 3-1 victory at Norton Canes with efforts from Tom Sherwood, Lewis Dickens and Harry Best.
