Halesowen Swimming Club enjoyed double success in the Worcester Winter League second round.

The club’s A team were victorious in a gala at their home pool, while the B side picked up third spot in Bromsgrove as both squads qualified for April’s A final.

Redditch proved stern opposition for the A team in Halesowen, before the home swimmers eventually pulled away to win by 18 points.

The B team were locked into a battle for third spot with Stourbridge B for much of the evening, before edging ahead of their rivals in the final relay events.

Double winners included India Hanke in the freestyle and breaststroke, Jack Simpson and Chloe Robbins in the freestyle and backstroke, Chloe Finch and James Benson in the butterfly and freestyle and Jacob Darby in the butterfly and breaststroke.

There were a host of individual winners including Lilian Parsons, Sophie Page, Sam Bradley-Wood, Lauren Hill, Ben Meakin, Josh Bradley and Connor Oates.

The A team also swept the board in the relay events.
