LADIES who are bored of waiting for their dream fella to propose have the perfect excuse to go down on one knee this month - a chance of winning a seven night holiday in sun-drenched Antigua.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is celebrating this Leap Year by offering ladies that propose to their partners on 29 February 2012, the chance to win a all- inclusive luxury honeymoon at the Sugar Ridge Resort in the twin-island paradise of Antigua and Barbuda.

Tradition states every four years on February 29, women can propose without the stigma of being rather desperate.

To qualify for the competition, entrants are required to upload a short video of their Leap Day proposal on to YouTube, between 29 February and 31 March 2012. Videos will be shared on the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Facebook site and will be promoted via @antiguabarbuda on Twitter with the hashtag #AntiguaBarbudaProposal.

The top five most entertaining and creative videos will be shortlisted and the video getting the most votes will be declared the winner of the dream honeymoon to Antigua.

Hilary Modeste, UK and Europe Director, Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, said: “We have launched this online campaign to reach our key audience of females who we know tend to be the honeymoon decision maker. We hope women will leap at the chance to propose.
