A STOURBRIDGE school are putting on a Christmas extravaganza to raise money for two causes.

On Friday November 20, the Friends of Redhill School will be trying to raise as much money as they can for a new school minibus as well as their partner school in Sri Lanka.

Pupils, staff and parents will be holding a range of stalls, games and competitions, while about 20 local traders will be selling quality goods for Christmas.

Martyn Orton, assistant headteacher, said: “We would love to see lots of people from Stourbridge coming along to support this fantastic fundraising event and do their Christmas shopping.

“There will be hot food and drinks on sale and lots to see and do.”

The free extravaganza, which runs from 6pm until 8pm, is one of a number of events the school is holding to raise £12,000 to complete the building of the new Sri Lankan school.

It will provide education in an area which was devastated by the tsunami of 2004, and so far, Redhill has raised more than £32,000 for the new building which is well underway.
