MP backs anti-bullying

6:30pm Tuesday 28th November 2006

STOURBRIDGE MP Lynda Waltho joined members of MENCAP's M power project Dudley and ME2 to help them launch their anti bullying day.

The event was held at St Thomas's Church, Dudley, on Saturday November 25 and was held to highlight the group's aim to gain funding for a project to explain to employers and the public how young people cope with their learning disabilities and how bullying has affected their lives.

Labour MP Lynda said: "This event was thought provoking and very moving. The young people expressed through words, drama and questioning just how devastating bullying can be. Many people were moved to tears at the very honest delivery of the young people and the effects that bullying has had on their lives.

"I take my hat off to the young people who are coming forward to tackle this problem head on."
