MP’s behind carers’ fight

STOURBRIDGE MP Lynda Waltho is encouraging carers to find out what they are entitled to and make sure they do not miss out on their rights.
She is backing Carers UK in their campaign to raise awareness of carers' rights.
The Labour MP said around £740m of carers' benefits are not claimed each year.
She added: "This is money carers would be receiving as an income as well as protecting carers' pensions in retirement. There is also a lot of practical support and advice available.
"I am concerned Stourbridge carers may not be getting all they are entitled to. Carers provide essential support to family and friends but often suffer hardship and ill health themselves. It is essential that they come forward to claim what is theirs."
