STOURBRIDGE MP Lynda Waltho has launched a campaign to crackdown on rogue employers short-changing their staff.
Lynda has contacted trade unions and businesses in the area asking them to report firms paying illegally low wages.
In October the national minimum wage rose to £5.35 per hour and Lynda is keen to catch any employer trying to gain an unfair advantage by paying less.
Mrs Waltho said: "Nearly every business in Stourbridge does exactly what's required by law, I've no intention of letting anyone get away with paying illegally low wages.
"Employers who refuse to pay up can end up with a criminal record and a £5,000 fine."
Anyone with information about workers being underpaid can contact Lynda on 01384 374356.
